This movie is really funny. And cute. It's as if 500 Days of Summer was set in a psychiatric ward and Zooey Deschanel and JGL were teenagers.

The above three videos are from thefashioncitzen channel on youtube. These girls know how to find cool and unique clothes for super cheap. And they know how to style them. They're fraternal twins, but they have very different styles. But both of them incorporate quirky and one of a kind items into their style. A lot of their clothes are thrifted, something they inspired me to do. I'm thankful that I stumbled upon their channel. Check them out !

but anyway, I personally DIY bleached these shorts. I didn't really know what I was doing, but I think they turned out pretty cool. They kind of have an ombre effect, the very top is the original color, but the middle is bleach white and then fades to a light blue at the end. The shorts only cost me $3 at the thrift store. Pretty good deal if I do say so myself.

this is part two of my THRIFITNG series. today I'm going to give you all some tips for when you go thrifting.

1. DRESS APPROPRIATELY

This is essential. Especially if you're going to a thrift store you've never been to and you don't know if they have fitting rooms. And most of the time even if they do, you probably are limited to three or five items and the employees probably don't want to be bothered with monitoring you in there. So make it easy for everyone and wear something like this : leggings and a long tunic-y top. I'd also recommend wear closed toe shoes, just because thrift store floors are not the cleanest.

2. Don't get blinded by the prices.

You may think that $2 for a top is not that bad, and it's not at all, but if you get five tops, three skirts, four pairs of shorts and two bags...you'll get up to the register and it will be like $60...I guess my point is get things that you REALLY like AND are in good condition. Don't get something you don't need just because it's cheap.

3. Try not to get things similar to something you already own.

This is pretty much a general shopping tip. It may be 99 cents, but do you really need another v-neck?

4. Look for quality or well known brands.

Brands like Levi's, Calvin Klein, Ralph Lauren, Tommy Hilfiger, etc. are abundant at thrift stores.

5. Make sure you have a minimum of an hour to spend.

This mostly depends of the size of the store, but an hour is usually a good amount of time to go through everything and then get in line.

6. If a place or person seems shady or dangerous, LEAVE.

I recently had a bad experience with a creepy man (he followed me around the store..) So I left very quickly. And I will not be returning to that store. A $4 bag is NOT worth it.

7. Try to go on sale days (if you want an amazing deal)

All stores have sale days, call your local store to find out when. Keep in mind that sale days will be CRAZY busy, so be prepared.

8. Go early and on weekday.

Stores will be less busy then, so you can take your time.

9. Bring cash.

Unless your going to a place like Goodwill, most thrift stores do not take credit cards, so I'd recommend bringing enough cash.

10. Go through EVERYTHING.

You seriously never know what you could find. You might even find something cool in the housewares section. I usually don't go through the t-shirts, but I did recently, and I found my amazing Paris shirt for only 99 cents!

11. Don't be afraid of a little DIY.

Sometimes you might love the pattern of a skirt or dress, but you hate the length. Cut it and hem it! If you can't sew, pay a pro. If you buy the dress/skirt for $3, and it costs $10 to get it hemmed, then you paid $13 for the dress/skirt, which is worth it if you really love it.

12. Clean your things immediately when you get home.

Most things can be tossed in the washing machine. Bags, shoes and jewelry should be wiped down with alcohol or any other disinfectant.

okay, so today is going to be part one of a two part series on.....drum roll.....THRIFTING! YAY!
and today I'm going to show examples of trendy things that you can find at thrift stores for really low prices.

As you can see the above two dresses are similar in print and silhouette (mine was a maxi dress but i cut it.)
The left dress is selling on asos.com for $50. My dress was only $4. and it's victoria's secret brand.

These two pairs of shorts are the exact same brand. And personally I think mine look like they're in better condition. The left pair is selling on revolveclothing.com for $121. Mine were $3.

Again, two fairly similar denim shirts,the left selling for $103 on asos.com. Bought mine for $3. (those shorts were also thrifted, $2!)

Now these are not necesarily similar, but they both are small backpacks. The left is $129, mine was $4.

Okay, so next i'm just going to show you some really cool things I got.

Tan Blazer, that still had the tag on it, for $4.

Floral maxi skirt $4.

Lace top, which is actually from Lauren Conrad's line at Kohl's. $1

American Apparel sweatshirt $2. Silk skirt, that still had the tag on it, $5.

Paris tee (which I ADORE) and I got it for only 99 cents!!

I can not even begin to explain my love for these boys. I was surprised to discover that I haven't blogged about them before. But if any of you have seen my tumblr, you're well aware of my love for them. This is my favorite song by them, even though I love pretty much every single song on their album, Torches. If you don't know Mark Foster, Mark Pontius, and Cubbie Fink by now, then you're pretty late.

Another band I absolutely adore. And they're also coming in a few weeks, but they're opening for the goo goo dolls(who I have no desire to see) and the tickets are $40 :(

But anyway, I LOVE this song, and their new album. It's fantastic.

Show Me Lights by Friendly Fires

Literally just discovered these guys two days ago, and I can't get enough. I had heard of them before, but I didn't bother to listen to their songs...But then I saw the video for "Hawaiian Air" (LOVE THAT SONG) and I was intrigued. I listened to all of their songs and loved pretty much all of them. This songs has an amazing groove...And the lead singer has some pretty sick dance moves that never fail to amuse me.

Too Fake by Big Sean ft. Chiddy Bang

I haven't invested a lot of time into listening to his music, but this is probably my favorite song by him. Mostly because Chiddy Bang is in it and I ♥ them.

I stumbled upon this song while watching a wedding video on youtube...I had heard their song "polite dance song" before and thought it was okay. But I pretty much fell in love with this song.

So, I'm a little late on this, but I just went back to school and I already have a crazy amount of homework so this is the first time I could get it in.

So Sunday was The Emmy Awards and I watch about half of it, I had school the next morning. But I DVR'd it and I'm pretty happy with the winners. Jimmy Fallon was pretty funny too.

So here are my favorites:

Claire Danes was so pretty and shiny and glamorous.

I think this color looked really good on her.

I'm a huge fan of Oscar de la Renta, and I think this was a great choice for her.

And I'm not going to do the ones I didn't like because, I'm most definitely not the most stylish person on earth and I have not always made the best fashion choices, therefore I have no right to judge anyone.

Ok, and now for the ten things I like(love), drumroll please....

(not in any particular order.)

1. Music is pretty much my life, like for real. If I was more talented I would love to be a songwriter or a producer. I just love it, it helps me get through the day.

2. My immediate family, ah I really don't know what I would do without them. Some of my best memories I have are with them. Even though they really get on my nerves sometimes, they've shaped me into the young lady I am today.

3. My friends, gosh, where do I even begin? My personal blog is loaded with memories I've had with them. Sometimes they make me feel more loved than my own family. This may sound bad, but I would save my best friend's life over one of my random second cousins in a heartbeat.

4. I love shopping so much, it's pratically what I want to do as a career. And I'm pretty good at it. If shopping was an olympic sport, I'd be on the US team already. If I had the money/time/transportation I would go shopping everyday, no joke.

5. My dog/puppies are the greatest things ever. My dog is so bad but he's the cutest and funniest thing ever. He's just like Marley from Marley and Me. It makes me so sad to know that he's getting old and we could lose him. On a happier note, puppies are so adorable. And sorry but they're ten million times better than cats/kittens. But maybe I'm just saying that because I'm allergic to them.

6. DIY/ crafts have become a big part of my life in the past year and a half. I've taught myself to crochet and sew and all that good stuff. The gratification I feel after I've made something instead of paying for it is tremendous.

8. I love trying new things, whether it be foods, places, or techniques, I love it. I'm trying to become the most well-rounded person I can be.

9. I'm a huge Flickr fan. And pretty much photography in general. If I could afford it, I would buy Photoshop, but unfortunately I'm currently unemployed.

10. Finally, I love just hanging out/partying/having a good time. I think when I go to college I'm gonna end up being a party girl. I don't know why but when the music is blasting and everyone's dancing, I just let loose. Any other time, i'm pretty shy and reserved, but not on that dance floor.

Today I went to see the Princess Diana exhibit at the Atlanta Civic Center. It was really nice, it explored her life and at the end there was a collection of her dresses and outfits. That was my favorite part. Even though I'm too young to remember her (I was two when she died.) I saw today how much people really loved her and what an incredible lady she was. So many people came out to see the exhibit, people of all ages and races. One person who can be this popular and loved even several years after their death, ladies and gentlemen, is a true icon.

So this is what I wore yesterday. Today I went to a senior project presentation and it was really nice. These seniors made a documentary over our crazy marching band year, and the presentation was over how they did it. I didn't get to see the actual movie, because I had a party to attend, but they made a copy for the band library, so I'll probably get to see it eventually. Hopefully.
